Black Women Rising UK is the flagship programme of registered charity, The Leanne Pero Foundation, that offers culturally sensitive support, information and advice, for women of colour who have had a cancer diagnosis. They deliver a range of support services and projects that provide a platform for cancer patients, and survivors to seek help at the earlies opportunity. They strongly feel that no-one must suffer in silence of feel isolated even faced with their personal cancer journey.
Cancer Care Map is a free to access, online directory of cancer care services in the UK. They list over 6,000 local and national support services and all information is checked and updated regularly:

Cancer52 is an alliance of over 100 cancer charities that support people affected by rare and less common cancers, which are all cancers except for breast, prostate, lung, and bowel.
Although Cancer52 is not able to provide patient support, a directory of Cancer52 charity members’ websites by cancer type can be found on the Cancer52 website, where you can find further support.
Fruit Fly Collective is a multi-award-winning, not-for-profit organisation that focuses on supporting parents and children, when a parent is diagnosed with cancer. Our aims are to improve a family’s understanding of cancer, facilitate effective communication, support their mental wellbeing, and provide practical skills and tools to help them navigate family life with, and after, cancer.
We support any parents who are responsible for children under 18 year, who are living with cancer, who have had cancer, or are co-parenting with someone who had cancer. We provide free online coaching programmes, in person Parent Toolshed days across the UK, various online workshops and resources for families. Our website has lots of resources and tools for parents to explore. They focus on communication, coping and connection.
OUTpatients is the UK’s LGBTIQ+ cancer charity. Proudly patient-led, they exist to shake up the system, advocate for equity, and stand up for every LGBTIQ+ individual navigating the cancer journey. They host peer support, educate healthcare professionals, and help to shape national policy that supports the LGBTIQ+ community. Click on the logo to go to their website.
Shine Cancer Support is here for anyone in their 20s, 30s or 40s who’s living with a cancer diagnosis. We know it can feel isolating to always be the youngest person in the waiting room, and it’s not always easy to find information on the things that really matter - from fertility and relationships to work, family life and everything in between.
We offer support both online and in person through our local networks, a welcoming Facebook group, and national events and workshops. You’ll also find videos, blogs, personal experiences and our podcast on our website - all created to help you feel understood, connected and a little less alone.

Breast Cancer Now’s face-to-face Moving Forward course runs over two half day sessions for people who have finished their active, hospital based treatment. Through supportive, open conversations in a safe, confidential space, connecting with people who understand, finding the tools to feel more empowered, confident and in control.
Week 1: Looking back to move forward – A chance to share anything you’re worried about and explore what you need to start moving forward.
Week 2: What’s important to you? A live ‘Q&A’ with a healthcare professional. Identify the tools and resources that are most useful for you and your life after primary breast cancer
Courses are available in-person across the country and we can support with travel costs via our ‘access fund’ for anyone requiring financial support to attend.

Life after Cancer offers free support, practical tools and a welcoming community for those navigating life beyond treatment.
Our 6-week online coaching programme offers the opportunity to slow down, think about what’s important and work out what’s next. This small group coaching programme is led by trained coaches who’ve had cancer too. Over six weekly, 2 hour sessions you’ll:
We also offer online expert sessions and themed peer support groups. All our services are free, apart from the 6 week programme which requires a small fee to confirm your place. This cost can always be covered by us if it would stop you attending.

You didn’t choose cancer, but you can choose what comes next.

In all our centres we run a Where Now? course, designed for anyone facing life after cancer or following treatment. It’s a six-session course that helps people manage the emotional, physical and practical challenges that they may face in this transition period and beyond. Each session has a different topic and is led by a cancer support specialist and a clinical psychologist.

Session on how to manage menopause after cancer — created specifically for both patients and the cancer care teams who support them.
Led by Dani Binnington, founder of Menopause and Cancer and a patient with lived experience, the session blends personal insight with the latest evidence to explore the unique challenges faced by those experiencing treatment-induced menopause.
You’ll also learn about the work of Menopause and Cancer, the UK’s only non-profit focused solely on this issue. Learn how they support both patients and healthcare professionals through expert-led resources, clinical partnerships, and tailored services. The session has been edited to remove patients' questions and comments at the end.
